China's plan to release three artificial moons

China has announced the release of three artificial moons in space over the next four years to illuminate the city at night and reduce the need for street lighting. The first moon will be eight times brighter than the real moon will be launched in 2020 in the southwest city of Chengdu.

The bold plan has been met with some skeptics, and rightly said Dr. Alan Duffy, an astronomer and researcher at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne.
