According to data from the MobData market research agency in China, people who earn more money and have better research are betting on hi-tech equipment from Huawei or Xiaomi than the iPhone.
On the other hand, the iPhone is preferred by single women between 18 and 34 years old with higher education.
The agency mentions that most iPhone owners in China typically earn approximately 3000 yuan per month, which would be approximately 8,800 MXN. However, this does not mean that people are betting on the newer models because, according to the agency, the preferred model in China is the iPhone 6, launched in 2014.
Followed by the iPhone 6 are 6S, 6S Plus and iPhone 7, but we do not see any model released last year or this 2018 in the list.
On the other hand, married men with tertiary education between the ages of 25 and 34 and whose monthly income is approximately $ 1,800 (36,700 MXN) typically buy Huawei and Xiaomi equipment.
According to the survey itself, this does not mean that iPhone is a phone for people with lower resources, but because it is an ambitious product, people buy it with credits to pretend to be socially more economical, to which it really has access.
This looks like a common theme in different parts of the world, but in China Apple is still a brand that struggles to compete with local brands such as Huawei or Xioami.
