Three new suspected cases in Epuyén

The "Daily Circumstances Report", signed by Chubout Ricardo Jimenez's hospital director, to which Telam has access, mentions "an epidemiological record of three suspected cases compatible with isolated hantaviruses in ambulatory follow-up with good evolution."

Epuyén recorded five cases confirmed as positive for hantaviruses certified by the Carlos Malbran National Institute of Infectious Diseases, to which the samples were sent, one of which is fatal, two are still in the intensive care room, the other is in the Common Room was released, and the rest were destroyed last week.

The authorities of the Ministry of Health have requested the presence of a team of national experts expected to arrive in the mountain range around mid-week to create a disease control strategy reporting each year cases, albeit with a low frequency, that will join Río Negro specialists.

The most common form of epidemic infection is through the virus that transmits the small rodent Oligoryzomys longicaudatus, known as the "colilargo mouse" in the mountain range, a region where it is propagated especially during the flowering of the ballad colihue, which is their favorite food and generates abundant seed in flowering, rich in nutrients.

Once in the human body, the hepatitis pulmonary syndrome causes high fever, muscle aches, cough and headaches.

After a few days, breathing problems get worse and develop in severe conditions that, if not controlled, can cause death due to respiratory failure or shock when the lungs are full of fluid in a complex situation for hospital authorities. .
