Nya Bangladesh Tanners Association (BTN) said at dawn President Md. Shaheen Ahmed and Co-Chairman of Raw Leather Agent Chittagong Abdul Qadir. Interviewees Worker Shubhunkar and Sujan Ghosh,

<p dir=First Light: The prices of leather casualties have fallen dramatically. Who is responsible for this price reduction factor?

Shaheen Ahmed: Skin owners do not have their hands behind the deal. Traders, traders and dealers in the raw leather business. They unite and cheat marginalized merchants. They also acknowledged that reducing skin prices is a type of business policy. The result is a factor. Since we have no workforce, we cannot interfere with the raw leather market. Usually after 4-6 days Eid we buy saline skin.

First Light: The owners of leather goods are the main buyer of raw leather. But the owners of the tannery complained that there was a catastrophe for not paying the fee. How do you avoid skin owners?

Shaheen Ahmed: Owners of leather goods suffer from capital disruption. We have invested Tk 6,000 crore to 7,000 kroner in the leather industry in Hemetpur, Savar. But so far we have not understood the ownership of the land. Bisic did not do this. We cannot borrow from the bank for this. In addition, the leather export business has been deteriorating since moving to Hameetpur from Hazaribagh in the capital in the 21st. The Industrial City Central Refinery (CETP) is not completely ready. European buyers do not buy our skin to improve their business environment. Chinese buyers buy leather, but this has been hampered by the country's trade war with the US. In general, the leather business is in turmoil.

First Light: How about defaulting on arrears?

Shaheen Ahmed: The animal skin sacrifice is being sold for Rs. The intermediaries received only Tk 1 kroner from the owners of the fur. It is a fact that big businessmen do business with dealers' money. They don't pay the dealers. This is the biggest problem.

First Light: Hemayetpur's industrial downturn, leather exports collapse and the leather goods owners' capital crisis were also last. Still, what do you think is the reason for selling leather at half price last time?

Shaheen Ahmed: In the leather industry, 5 percent of the skin of the last animal skin is stored. Apart from exports, the price of leather has also dropped on the world market. As a result, the demand for raw leather was slightly lower. Again, negative reports were sent across the country about Eid-ul-Fiter because of two isolated incidents. In addition, seasonal traders invest hundreds of crowns each year. But seasonal traders are also lagging behind because of losses over the past two years. This is also one of the main reasons for the fall in skin prices.

First Light: You will also get the benefit of buying leather at low prices for artisans. You buy at lower prices …

Shaheen Ahmed: The question is not coming. Suppose you bought a pair of leather for 5 rupees. The cost of salt and wages is Tk 20. This shiny skin will sell us for at least 3-5 rupees.

First Light: Before Eid, the Department of Commerce set the price of leather. But when it came to selling leather, traders didn't even go for a fixed price. Would disaster be avoided if monitored by the government?

Shaheen Ahmed: The government can monitor the market for sacrificed animal skins. The market is volatile due to lack of oversight. If we could set up a monitoring team in conjunction with the Ministry of Commerce, this situation would not have been created on the leather market.

First Light: The incident took place in different parts of the country, leaving skin on the roads and rubbing the ground without getting the minimum cost. How Much Skin Can Be Damaged?

Shaheen Ahmed: Beef skin is 3-5 percent worn due to road and earth. Again, due to lack of timely salt, about 20 percent of the skin will be lost. On the other hand, 5 percent of goat skin is lost at no cost. Losing this huge amount of skin is a huge loss for the country.

First Light: To handle the situation in the current context, the Ministry of Commerce has decided to export raw leather and wet blue. Will this improve the situation?

Shaheen Ahmed: If raw leather is exported, the leather industry, like the jute industry, will be destroyed. Savar's skin is lacking in raw leather
Will be

First Light: Why will the industry be destroyed? Why not buy leather at a reasonable price?

Shaheen Ahmed: If you have a headache, will you cut off your head? Exporting raw leather is a lot like cutting the head. If the export decision is implemented, the domestic industry will be threatened. The leather industry will never be able to turn around. As a result, many workers will lose their jobs.

The price of skin for the victim's animal dropped dramatically. The chairman of the Bangladesh Bar Association (BTA) spoke with the first light as to why the crash and the current situation should be taken. Shahin Ahmed and Abdul Kader, president of the Co-operative Association of Greater Chittagong Raw Leather. Interview with Shubhankar Karkar and Sudan Ghosh.
