Belgians abroad: Sels, Dendoncker and Wuytens join Europa League playoffs

Europa League

On Thursday, Mats Sels and Strasbourg joined the Europa League playoffs at the expense of Lokomotiv Plovdiv (1-0). Steen Whittens did the same with AZ Alkmaar at the expense of Mariupol (4-0) and even scored. Created at 52nd place, Leander Dondonker also reached this stage of the competition after Wolverhampton's 4-0 win over Pyunik Yerevan.

Strasbourg already won the first game in Plovdiv (0-1). From the 8th minute Kevin Zochie calmed the Alsatian.

There was a formality in Wolverhampton. The Wolves won 0-4 in Armenia. On Thursday, Pedro Neto (54th), Morgan Gibbs-White (58th) and Ruben Vinagre (64th) made the scorer go 3-0 in ten minutes. With a late goal from Diego Jota (89th), the score rose to 4-0. Just before goals began to fall, Dendoncker replaced Moutinho. During the dams, superb Turin-Wolverhampton was programmed.

AZ came back with a 0-0 white tie from Mariupol Ukraine. Things went much better at home. Calvin Stengs (20th), Thomas Oujjan (44th), Wuitens (62) and Jaworski (90th) have allowed Alkmaar to join Antwerp in the playoffs.

Aberdeen, where Funsu Ojo started the match but was sent back to the locker room just twenty minutes after his second yellow card, lost 0-2 to Croatian side Rijeka. Loncar (10th) and Colac (32nd) found the net. The Croats will be the next opponents of La Gantoise.

Goalkeeper Alex Craninx and his Norwegian club Mölde qualified for the Europa League playoffs on Thursday.

In the second match of the third qualifying round in Aris Thessaloniki, Greece, Mölde was 3-0 after 90 minutes, the same result he had won a week ago. At the end of the first extra time, Bolly scored the Norwegian qualifying goal (105th + 1). They will meet the Partizan Belgrade Serbs in obstacles.

The 23-year-old Craninx found himself in Norway after six years in Real Madrid, followed by visits to Sparta Rotterdam and Cartagena in Spain.

Finally, Frankfurt, one of the biggest teams in the third qualifying round, won 1-0 against Vaduz after winning 0: 5 in Liechtenstein. Eintracht will be against Strasbourg for the group stage spot.
