After a long warm-up of the audience, Skoda finally presented the cheapest crossover in its ever-wider range. Kamiq will debut in front of an audience at the Geneva Motor Show, which opens next week.
The name of the new model comes from the language of the Inuit. The word means something that feels comfortable in any situation and has its own character.
Positioned under the compact Karoq, the Kamiq is 4,241 inches long, 1,793 inches wide and 1,531 mm high at a wheelbase of 2,651 mm. The boot volume is 400 liters, but can easily be increased to 1 395. In addition, the passenger's seat to the driver is folded, allowing for the transport of 2 447 mm in length.
Kamiq has a fairly brilliant radiance with its LED "two-story" headlamps and boomerang-like stops. Buyers will be able to choose between 16-, 17- and 18-inch wheels.

More vigorous drivers will probably prefer the 1.5-liter TSI (150 hp / 250 Nm) with active cylinder management and the same choice of transmissions. For Diesel lovers, a 1.6-liter TDI with 115 horses and 250 Newton meters is available.
Success in Bulgaria is likely to have the G-TEC methane version. It will be equipped with a 1.0-liter engine that develops 90 hp. and 160 Nm.
The list of features includes an active Sport Chassis Control suspension with adjustable shock absorbers lowered by 10 mm clearence and four operating modes – Normal, Eco, Sport and Individual. Front-end prevention systems and belt traffic control come into the standard equipment, but adaptive cruise control, parking assistants and other more attached features will have to be overcharged.
