Winnipeg – Winnipeg's Blue Bombers signed an international defensive victory over Willie Jefferson for one year, the team said.
Jefferson joins the bombers after spending the last three seasons in Saskatchewan, creating star campaigns in 2017 and 2018.
Jefferson signs with Saskatchewan Rafters after he collides with NFL. Jefferson was the most remarkable player and most prominent defender in 2018, starting each game and recording his career with ten defensive bags along with two intersections (both returned for touchdown), two forced fumbles, 34 defensive attacks and six attacks for a loss in 18 games.
"Being able to add such a dynamic defensive player to what we already feel is a strong part is certainly very exciting for us," said Blue Bombers General Manager Kyle Walters. "Willy's skill set and athleticism let him play games that not many players can do. We are excited to add it to our defense line for 2019. "
Jefferson played 76 career CFL games for parts of five seasons with Edmonton and Saskatchewan, recording 127 defensive attacks, 31 sacks, two interceptions, six forced fumbles, and two defensive touchdowns. Jefferson won the Gray Cup in 2015 with the one-toned Eskimos.
