The bomb squad was summoned after a suspicious package was opened on Sunday at Calgary International Airport, police said.
The package of international arrivals was announced around 4 am, the officers said, causing the entrances 13-17 to be closed.
Police said the airport is still functional and has no evacuations.
The airport said she was aware of the incident and apologized for any interruption.
Just before 19:00, the airport said the bag was removed from the Calgary police and was given permission to return to the area, as the Canadian Border Services Agency is again open.
