What you need to do
If you think you have become ill with the withdrawal of the withdrawn product, call your doctor.
Make sure you've remembered products in your home. Selected products must be discarded or returned to the store where they were purchased.
Food infected with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled, but it can still make you sick. Young children, pregnant women, the elderly, and people with a weakened immune system can become infected with serious and sometimes lethal infections. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Long-term complications may include severe arthritis.
This remark was triggered by the findings of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) during the investigation of an outbreak of food-borne illnesses. The CFIA conducts a food safety investigation, which may lead to seizure of other products. If other high-risk products are withdrawn, the CFIA will inform the public through updated food seizure warnings.
The CFIA checks whether the industry removes the withdrawn product.
The Canadian Public Health Agency is investigating an outbreak of human illness. Please refer to the Public Health Notice for further details on this active outbreak investigation.
