Doom's next expanded Doom package, made by John Romero, will be free or will cost up to $ 166

John Romero-co-creator of the classic and influential first-person shooter of the 90s of the last century doom– announced it will release 18 new levels for the game for its 25th anniversary next year.

Scheduled for release in mid-February 2019, the free megabad from the levels will be called "Sigil". Romero's website describes him as a "spiritual successor" to the fourth episode of " doom, lifting "the place where the original has remained aside". It will include nine levels per player and nine levels of multiplayer Deathmatch.

You must have a copy of the original doom to play it, but it is not difficult to come. But if a free download is not enough for you, Romero offers two special editions that actually cost money. The "Standard Edition," which costs $ 39.99, includes the following:

  • Beautiful demonic standard "big box" with Christopher Love's artwork.
  • 16GB 3 1/2-inch floppy disk thematic USB, which includes free megawad data and extras.
  • A two-disc jeweler that includes free megawad and Buckethead soundtracks.
  • 2 stickers: 1 SIGIL and 1 Romero games.

But this is the Beast Box, which makes things absurd. You can see photos of most of its various components above, but here's the list of Romero's Web site:

  • Beautiful, large-sized demonic box inspired by the id Anthology ™ box, individually numbered and signed by John Romero personally and by Christopher Love's artwork.
  • 16GB 3-1 / 2-inch flash drive with thematic USB that includes free megawad data and extras.
  • A 2-disc disc with a brochure that includes free mega-data, a full Buckethead soundtrack, and behind-the-scenes information about the original game and the development of the megawad.
  • Beautiful 8 "x 10" footprint, signed by illustrator Christopher Lovell.
  • A coin type SIGIL.
  • Calavera statue of John Romero's head on a jump.
  • T-shirt with size XL, SIGIL.
  • 2 stickers: 1 SIGIL and 1 Romero games.

This will return you $ 166. The head on the top is obviously a nice touch – this is a feedback Doom II that fans will recognize. The site of Romero Games Ltd. calls these "fan boxes" and notes that they will be available only from December 10 to December 24 this year. Usually we are not inclined to recommend people order pre-games or boxes with a special edition, but collectors may be interested in them.

This is not the first time Romero has released new content doom, In 2016 he released his first doom level for 21 years free of charge. In the same year he released Kickstarter for a new game called Blackroom that he never went anywhere.

Many of the archers to return to the 1990s are there if you have this rage to scratch – for example, twilight, which, of course, is more earthquake-like, started from Steam's early access in sync with doomthe 25th anniversary that is happening today.
