FOOTBALL FOOTBALL star Kristin Sinclair named 14th best Canadian female player



Christine Sinclair is elected for the 14th time by the Canadian footballer of the year.

35-year-old from Burnaby, BK, scored the winning goal in Canada's qualifying campaign for the Women's World Cup next year in France. And it made Canada score for the 15th time in 19 years, with eight goals and two assists in 12 international matches.

Sinclair scored 177 goals in 274 appearances for Canada.

At the club's front, she played all 2160 minutes for Portland Tornes when they finished second in the NWSL. She scored nine goals and ended up tied for third in the league with six assists, with the thorns attaining the championship title in the league.

The award was decided by a vote of Canadian media and coaches. The men's winner will be announced on Wednesday.
