Honor View 20 chamber samples reveal photography of the 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor

In July Sony announced the Sony IMX586 48-megapixel sensor. Yesterday Honor confirmed that the first phone to be presented will be the upcoming Honor View 20, which will be official on January 22 in Paris, France. The same phone will be named Honor V20 on December 26 in China. The Huawei sub-brand shared the first specimens of the Honor V20 camera to reveal the photographic power of the 48-megapixel camera sensor in all types of lighting environments.

The Sony IMX587 CMOS sensor offers a large pixel size of 0.8 microns. In addition, the Quad Bayer technology, which has four adjacent 2 × 2 pixels in the same color. Users will take pictures without noise in low light. The first camera samples show that the Honor V20 will be able to shoot DSLR like smartphone pictures.

Some of the photos shown below are shot at night, bright areas, and some of them are in black and white. To sum up, the Honor V20 can be a powerful flagship camera smartphone.

Honor V20 is the next Honor flagship. Therefore, it is powered by the Kirin 980 chipset. The Chinese manufacturer confirmed that the phone will be equipped with Link Turbo technology, which combines Wi-Fi and LTE to work together for a faster and continuous connection.

The Honor V20 is equipped with a 6.4-inch camera-opening display in the top left corner. There are rumors that the phone will be equipped with a ToF 3D sensor to create accurate 3D models for Augmented Reality (AR). The exact size of the battery that will power the smartphone is unknown. However, it is confirmed that the phone will support fast charging of 22.5 W. The phone is expected to arrive in China at a starting price of 2,799 yuan (~ $ 406).
