Joel Epipee received Friday night a "break," but the Philadelphia 76c star said it was not what he needed to cope with his lagging production.
The center recorded 34.3 minutes of play during the season, but he said philly.com Friday is not the reason why his production has declined in recent weeks.
"My body feels great, I just did not play well," Emmid said. Instead, he indicated a new role after Jimmy Butler's arrival in Minnesota Timberwolves.
Embied started all 26 matches for Shires this season before Friday's victory over Detroit Pistons. He is on average the best in career in points (26.3), rebounds (13.3) and assists (3.6).
But his number has changed since Butler joined the team. Embid scored 28.2 points in the game before trading, but only 23.8 points. His percentage of goals (48.4 to 43.1) and three-point shooting (30.2 to 27.3) are also hits, according to ESPN,
"I think this is mainly because of the way I've been used, namely, that I've been used as a spacer, I guess section 5, which just shoots (in total) 29 percent of the three point," he said.
"But it seems like the last few games, and the way I play, our setting (coach Brett Brown) always makes me start on the perimeter … and that just upset me."
