measles vaccine: Measles vaccine campaign kicks off | Noida News

NOIDA: The health department on Monday kicked off the central government's free immunization program for measles-rubella, which will cover over six lakh children across the district. For the campaign, 184 teams have been formed across the district to administer the vaccine to children between nine months to 15 years of age.

India, together with the WHO South-East Asia Region, plans to eliminate rubella and rubella syndrome (CRS) by 2020 through the program.

Under the direction of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the vaccination campaign has been initiated in a phased manner throughout the nation and will cover approximately 41 crore children. On Monday, the program was kicked off at 193 different locations throughout the district, including schools, community health centers, primary health centers and aanganwari centers.
