Montreal Canadians set Michal Moravcic to unconditional refusals

It was announced today that 24-year-old defender Michal Moravcic has been put to unconditional refusals to terminate the contracts.

Originally signed with David Sklenicka this summer, Moravcik was part of the AHL repair to bring more talent to fill the list under Joel Bouchard.

For Moravcik this season was not the easiest setting, playing only 20 AHL matches for Laval Rocket, scoring one goal and two assists. He was also previously sent to ECHL's Brampton Beast to receive ice, and in four games he recorded two assists.

With David Schlemko and Xavier Walle are currently in place and Karl Alzner is also holding on, it is clear that there was no room for the Czech Republic and he was returned to Brampton this week. It is clear that Moravcik would like to pursue another career path, which makes sense given that he is unable to win Bouchard at AHL level for longer.

When Moravcik clears Canadiens, he will be released from a $ 925,000 hit next year and will open a new contract, leaving Montreal to 43 out of 50 contracts.
