From there, REDBLACKS signed a duty-free protector Jonathan Jennings on a one-year contract, the club announced on Wednesday.
Jennings spent his entire four-year career with BC Lions, where he had 980 completed for 12,497 yards and 66 touchdowns in 51 career games. His best season so far came in 2016 when he was born in Ohio and threw 5,226 yards and 27 touchdowns.
"We are very excited to add Jonathon's lineage to our list," said REDBLACKS General Manager Marcel Desjardins. "His experience and ability will add depth and competition to the QB position."
Jennings joins a group of quaterbits in Ottawa that includes Dominic Davis, Danny Collins and Will Arndt.
