Peel Regional Police said the investigation was underway after a suspicious package was opened at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Wednesday night.
The package was opened around 8:45. in Terminal 1 at the airport.
Toronto Pearson International Airport told Twitter that the package in question is a part of the non-attendant baggage found on the third floor of the terminal.
"It's from a public point of view, so right after the check, but before the security," Const. Akhil Mukken told CP24 on stage.
The Peel Regional Police Department was summoned for explosive devices.
Part of the affected terminal is stopped because an investigation is being conducted.
Peel's police said he advised passengers to check their flight condition before leaving the airport.
