The BC Lions announced Wednesday they had signed national linebacker Jordan Herdman to a contract extension through the 2020 season.
Herdman finished with 56 tackles and two sacks in 18 matches in defense after taking over the middle linebacker assignment for injured injured injured injury-free Solomon Elimimian. He added 17 other tackles to the special team.
"Jordan is an athletic and talented linebacker who showed last season that he has the ability to play at a very high level," Lions GM Ed Hervey said in a press release. "There is no greater asset in our league than the depth of the Canadian elite and the signing of Jordan to the extension is a very positive start to this offseason."
Simon Fraser's product has played his second season in his CFL career with the Lions after BC chose him in the seventh round in 2017.
