Subtel has detected mobile portability with a non-existing route

Following the Mobile Portal Audit process conducted in November 2017 and May 2018, the sub-secretariat for telecoms (Subtel) managed to detect certain portability abuses, especially those related to the prepaid segment.

Prior to analyzing the results of the survey, it was found that about 20% of the numbers carried over the aforementioned period did not show any type of traffic or reload after portability.

Similarly, it was possible to find that 23,361 gates were associated with a non-existent RUT (Ex: 1,111,111-1,2222,222-2, etc.) as well as other real ones that registered between one and four thousand parts in the research cycle. ,

Deputy Telecom Minister Pamela Guidi has asked companies to "redouble their processes of control and transparency to have a clean portability process and not to create suspicion among the same companies," he said.

With this in mind, Subtel will want to meet with the OAP to get more information and will require that portals be tightened so that there is not a huge number of them and wrong data.

It should be noted that following the announcement of Subtel – in May this year – to initiate an audit process of figures provided for portability, the number of ports was significantly reduced in the coming months.
