The US has ordered the withdrawal of Chilean fruit for listeria risk



The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued an order for Download boxes of Chilean fruits for possible contamination with listeria,

According to the government agency, These are nectarines, peaches and plums that have been distributed to supermarkets in at least 20 countries.

Withdrawal was accepted after a routine inspection of the packing company Jac Vandenberg, with final products showing the presence of bacteria.

FDA wants consumers to return all Rio Douro products purchased by ALDI, Costco, Fairway Market, Hannaford, Market Basket and Walmart.

Finally, the agency warns consumers that listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in people with a weak immune system, such as children and the elderly.
