Apple decided to move the production of one of its computer models – the new one Mac Pro, from the United States to China, announced on Friday The Wall Street Journal, at a time when both sides are involved in a trade war.
According to the US Economic Journal, quoting anonymous sources, the company has chosen Taiwanese company Quanta Computer to assemble its devices near Shanghai, China. The production of this model is currently being carried out in Texas.
Advised by AFP, Apple has not replied at the moment.
Although Mac Pro is a small niche for Apple, this decision can unleash the wrath of US President Donald Trump, who repeatedly wants companies to produce on national territory.
The company's decision may seem surprising due to the reciprocal imposition of heavy tariffs between Beijing and Washington, which will surely raise the price of this product for US consumers.
