NEW YORK – Angels return to town for Victoria's Fashion Show's Secret.

The annual event landed back in New York City after spending two years abroad, with international chases in Paris (2016) and Shanghai (2017).

Night marks the end of an era for Victoria's Secret Angel: Adriana Lima. The supermodel hung its wings with emotional respect, retired from a fashion show that made it a household name.

"The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Holiday Special" aired Sunday, December 2 (10 EDT / PDT) on ABC, but we got a place on the show on Thursday at Pier 94. Here are the five biggest moments of the 2018 event:

Adriana Lima tears in tears at tribute

The program gave a special tribute to Lima, featuring a video montage clip from the moment Victoria was the first Secret. The video ends with a "thank you" message to Lima before the dark catwalk and the model itself come out.

Lima, 37, walking alone on the runway, was clearly seen when he reached the end of the runway while crowds rose to cheer up the supermodel as he walked through the 19th and final VS show.

Lima also shared her gratitude in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

"Dear Victoria, Thank you for showing me the world, sharing your secrets, and most importantly not only giving me wings but teaching me to fly," he wrote in the post caption.

Top supermodels continue their government

Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Lima, Elsa Hosk, Candice Swanepoel, Jasmine Tookes and Behati Prinsloo returned to Victoria's runway Secret, continuing to flex the status of their top models.

Hosk was knocked to wear the coveted Diamond Fantasy Fantasy Bra, worth $ 1 million. Jenner and Gigi missed the show in Shanghai, but they walked with angel wings and long trains as if they had never left behind.

Shawn Mendes and Co rocked

Star power is not what has happened over the past decade – thought Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga in 2016, The Weeknd in 2016 and 2015, Taylor Swift in 2013 and 2014 and Katy Perry in 2010.

This year, Shawn Mendes, The Chainsmokers, Halsey, Kelsea Ballerini, Rita Ora, Bebe Rexha, Leela James and The Struts are in the lineup as players, and although their appeal may not be as high as its predecessors, they put on shows that live with strong vocals and good energy.

Behati Prinsloo returns to the post-baby catwalk

That's one hot mom! Prinsloo walked the runway just months after giving birth to his second child with husband and star "The Voice" Adam Levine.

The 30-year-old model returned after a three-year hiatus from the event to focus on her children with the front man Maroon 5, 2-year-old Dusty Rose and 7-month-old Gio Grace. He gave birth in February, then walked back in November 2015.

Prinsloo posted about his win back on Wednesday, writing on Instagram: "Feeling like I never went away, I really liked the family @ my secret sex, my first show in 2007 was crazy to think about how time passed. I was nervous and more grateful for all that then. LETS DO THIS. "

The diversity of sizes takes a back seat – again

Although lingerie brands such as Rihanna & # 39; s Savage x Fenty – are closing New York Fashion Week with various forms of women of all shapes, colors and sizes – and designers like Christian Siriano – who often show off other designer stars reject clothes because its size – Victoria's Secret still hasn't moved beyond its one (small) -size-fits-all mentality when it comes to casting models.

The show calls itself one of the most competitive castings in the industry, but it seems clear that competition only applies to the long and sleek model that we have seen over the past 23 years of the show's existence.
