Two packs beyond Meat Burger cost Germany $ 4.99. The leading discounters in this country offer comparable products for € 2.99. But this is not a reason for the vegetation specialist to adapt.
The American startup Beyond Meat wants to cancel a price war on cheap vegan burgers in Germany. "We believe customers who buy Beyond Burger think they are worth the money," the company told The World. Vegan bouquets from the US cost $ 4.99 twice. The discounters Lidl and Aldi offer their products for € 2.99.
In May, Lidl had assortments beyond meat. Now they have to yield to the Lidl brand.
Pioneer Veggie Burger
Beyond Meat is hoping for a customer bonus because it brought vegan patties to Germany on the way to the mainstream. Beyond burger is the first vegetable-based burger to taste like real beef, the company said.
Beyond Meat had sales of $ 67.3 million in the second quarter of the year, a 287 percent jump over the same period last year.
Beyond Meat was founded in 2009. The company manufactures meat substitutes, among other things, for cultured burgers and tacos, and takes advantage of the trend towards a lean diet. The manufacturer, like many other manufacturers, strives to bring alternatives in terms of taste, appearance, smell and texture closer to the original.
