Starting next week, you can control Fortnite on the Xbox One with a mouse and keyboard. Microsoft has announced this as part of the Fan Fest X018 in Mexico. Fortnite shooter is one of the most played video games. This is next to the Warframe co-op shooter, one of two titles that can be operated starting next week on the Xbox with the mouse and keyboard.
According to Microsoft, the November bombing crew, Deep Rock Galactic, Strange Brigade, Vermintide 2, War Thunder, and X-Morph Defense all participated. Then followed by Children of Morta, DayZ, Minion Masters, Moonlighter, Vigor, Warface, and Wargroove. However, starting next week, all developers must have the opportunity to customize their game on the mouse and keyboard.
This step is entirely optional, Microsoft announced in September. Microsoft gives developers the ability to include mouse and keyboard support in their games as an alternative to a gamepad – not as a substitute. In the end, therefore, the decision lies with the developers.
Basically, the mouse and keyboard are working on the Xbox. At the operating system level, users can enter and send messages using the keyboard. Using an adapter that translates keyboard input into virtual gamepad input, you can now control the game with the mouse and keyboard. However, this method does not function perfectly.
The mouse and keyboard are often superior to the gamepad
Over the years, Microsoft has promised full support for the mouse and keyboard on the Xbox – now the company is finally implementing this step. Mouse and keyboard are more accurate than gamepad controls in many games, especially in shooters. In competitive online shooters, mouse players have a significant advantage.
In other genres, including sports and fighting games, the game pad is often in front of the pack because of nuanced stick controls and buttons and triggers that are easy to reach. Also, because the gamepad is easier to use on the sofa, it will continue to be the standard input method on the Xbox.
To overcome this problem, players can be sent to separate servers using the mouse, which however divides the player base. How it will be handled in the future on the Xbox, lies with the respective developers.
