The Chinese lunar rover travels 271 meters from the far side of the moon, Xinhua

PAIGIN, Aug 8 (Xinhua) – China's Utah-2 lunar rover has traveled 271 meters from the far side of the moon to conduct a scientific study of pristine territory.

Both the lander and rover of the Chang & # 39; e-4 probe went into sleep mode on Wednesday night (Beijing time), according to the National Space Administration's Center for Lunar Exploration and Space Program.

The Chinese Chang-e-4 probe, released on December 8, 2018, made the first ever soft landing on the Von Karman crater in the South Pole-Aitken basin on the far side of the moon on January 3.

A lunar day equals 14 days on Earth, a lunar night of the same length. Chang-e-4 probe goes into sleep mode on moonlight due to lack of solar power.

During the eighth lunar day of the moon's probe, the lander and rover scientific instruments worked well and a new scientific discovery data set was sent to the core research team for analysis.
