KOMPAS.com – Each type of diet will focus on reducing something and making us focus on specific things. Whether it's carbohydrates, fat, or maybe sugar.
It is intended to facilitate marketing of the diet method. However, as consumers we might wonder which diet method is the most effective at reducing calories?
The Harvard team of scientists looked at the effectiveness of several types of diets that are currently popular.
Specifically, they gave the research title: "The effect of a low-carbohydrate diet on energy expenditure during a weight-loss program: a randomized test".
As a result, people who want to lose weight then try low-fat high-carbohydrate diets burn fewer calories than those who replace carbohydrate intake with fat.
This study found that every calorie is not the same. This finding could eliminate the effectiveness of calorie counting as a sure way to know the potential for weight loss.
The researchers looked at 164 adults and made sure their food intake was right for 20 weeks.
In conclusion: reducing carbohydrates can increase energy expenditure during weight loss.
This result seems to divide the scientists into two camps, namely those who believe the element of bad food is carbohydrates, especially simple carbohydrates such as pasta and white bread, and the team that assesses that fat is the most evil element of food.
However, the middle ground that might be taken is to try to reduce eating.
Because this study guides us to an understanding that calories from each source have different effects on the human body.
Everyone needs to set their daily intake in detail to be able to achieve weight loss.
