America prohibits the sale of electronic cigarettes with fruit flavors

The government will ban the sale of electronic cigarettes at fruit and candy stores at grocery stores and gas stations this week in a move aimed at counteracting rising demand for teenagers, said a US Food and Drug Administration official.

The official said the ban meant cigarettes, mint and mango cigarettes would only be available at outlets, a blow to San Francisco-based Jules Labs, a leader in the electronic cigarette industry.

The US Food and Drug Administration will tighten age verification procedures for e-cigarette online sales.

The government's latest limits, according to the Washington Post, do not apply to e-cigarette retailers or other specialized retailers.
