Shares rose 1.6% after gains


ABU DHABI – Etisalat (ETISALAT) rose at the end of the session on Tuesday after the company's financial results for the first six months of the year.

Shares rose 1.6 percent to AED 17.76 (AED 25.77 million), trading 1.46 million shares.

The Emirates Telecommunications Group (Etisalat) reported a 3% gain of up to 4.44 billion AED by the end of the first half of this year, compared with 4.31 billion AED in the first half of 2018, a statement said the Abu Dhabi Securities Market.

On an annual basis, revenue declined by 1% to AED 25.86 billion in the first half of this year, compared with AED 26.20 billion for the same period in 2018.

In the second quarter, earnings rose by 1.8% to Dirhama 2.23 billion, compared to Dirhama 2.19 billion in the same period in 2018.

Revenue for the second quarter fell 1.6 percent to Dirham 12.87 billion, compared to Dirhama's 13.09 billion in the second quarter of 2018.

Etisalat recommends that the shareholders be allocated 3.5 billion AED
