If you want to upgrade your smartphone but you're on a limited budget, Samsung is offering the best Black Friday deals of 2018.

The Galaxy maker has discounted its entire 2018 top-tier range by $ 200. These discounts are also for unlocked devices, which is important because 'deals' at other retailers require signing up to a 24-month contract.

So that means the Note 9 and the Galaxy S9 is $ 200 cheaper. Buyers can also trade in old devices for further discounts, so you could potentially pick up the Note 9 or Galaxy S9 for $ 500 & nbsp; less than you would normally pay.

The competition does not offer similar discounts. Apple's shopping event does not look as extensive as Samsung's, and third party retailers like Walmart, T-Mobile and Best Buy you have a gift card in exchange for a lengthy phone contract. You will, however, find some decent deals on older iPhones (such as SE) from those respective stores.

Google comes close with $ 150 and $ 200 off for the smaller and larger Pixel 3 variations respectively. But the trade-in price for Note 8 ($ 215) is not as good as Samsung's trade-in ($ 300).

That said, the Google Pixel 2 XL gets a hefty $ 150 discount too, the unlocked device, bringing it down to $ 699. This is arguably a better value for money than buying a Pixel 3 XL because the phone's not that different and the best of this year's update came in software features that will filter down to Pixel 2 anyway.

So, if you're in the market for a top-end Android, Samsung has the best smartphone deals right now.
