Infomédiaire Morocco – The Ministry of Health launched, Thursday, Riaya operation 2018-2019 to provide health protection for residents of areas affected by cold and snowfall.
Launched in accordance with King Mohammed VI's instructions, the operation was held from November 15 to March 30, with the aim of ensuring continuation of health services in these areas, in accordance with the orientation of the "Health 2025" plan, especially the related parts. strengthening primary health care facilities and the network of medical and health facilities around the countryside.
Speaking at a ceremony held at Rabat on this occasion, Minister of Health, Anas Doukkali presented the steps taken by his department in this context, noting that the operation targeted 28 provinces in 7 regions, with the aim of ensuring better care for people who live in remote areas, through local health services and strengthen basic health, prevention and awareness services provided in health centers.
This operation also aims to intensify the activities of mobile medical units at population meeting points identified in this region and to ensure coverage of detected cases, through special medical caravans and referral hospitals designated in the measurement. to ensure the handling of urgent cases, the minister noted.
To carry out this operation, steps have been taken to ensure that the availability of human resources, equipment and means of transportation in 360 health centers is transferred to the area concerned for patient acceptance and care. , with the aim of conducting 4,248 field visits by mobile medical units, he explained.
Similarly, he said, 163 special medical caravans will be held, in addition to the establishment of a system of coordination between mobile medical units, provincial and caravan emergency systems, with the possibility of using helicopter transportation if needed.
It will also proceed to the appointment of reference health institutions, the establishment of references and a system of counter-references in the targeted provinces, mobile hospital mobilization and the establishment of coordination mechanisms with partners in the health centers concerned, Doukkali reported.
He assured that to achieve the expected goals, the Ministry would mobilize 2,478 health professionals from medical and administrative equipment, as well as bio-medical, namely ultrasound, laboratory laboratory medical analysis, dental chairs and equipment to measure visual acuity. Transportation facilities will be supported by mobile medical units and ambulances, as well as helicopter transportation options if needed.
And to conclude that the Ministry has dedicated an extraordinary budget of 5 million DH for medicines and medical equipment and 800,000 DH to meet the fuel needs and maintenance of mobile units.
The operation will target the provinces of Chefchaouen, Larache, Ouazzane and Al Hoceima (Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima), Figuig, Taourirte, Driouech, Oujda-Angad, Jerrada and Guercif (Oriental), Beni Mellal, Azilal and Khénifra (Béni Mellal-Khénifra ), Midelt, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Zagora and Errachidia (Darara-Tafilalet), Boulmane, Sefrou, Ifrane, Taza and Taounate (Fez-Meknes), Taroudante, Chtouka Ait Baha and Tata (Souss-Massa) and Al-Haouz, Chichaoua (Marrakech-Safi).
