A number of measures will be put in place by Vale of Marrakech, Karim Cassi-Lalu to put an end to the anarchy prevailing in Jama El Fna Square. The case with tourists deceived by a snake charmer, taxi stories, and other facts forced the authorities to adopt a new policy on public space management.

Jamaâ el Fna Square will not allow speculation by civil servants. All "traders" on the site will be subject to a specific mode of operation. "The Chalchies, the Snake Snake, the tattoos of the henna and even the taxi drivers will now have to show their prices clearly and carry an identification badge.

In June, a foreign tourist was a snake charmer at Jama El Fna Square. For a photo taken with a reptile, the latter asked for the sum of 450 dirhams. Eventually she complained to the tourist police and arrested.

A few days earlier, foreign tourists were forced to pay 5,000 dirhams in a restaurant in the same place. The manager replied to those who criticized him that nothing was hidden and that the fees were published and public.
