Kevin Strythman was almost touched on Friday during the home match of Olympique Marseille against Lille OSC, 1-2, due to fireworks that were probably thrown from the stands by his own supporter.
The midfielder was at the level of the sideline, when after one hour of play in the 0: 1 position a fireworks broke out just before his shoes, then he grabbed his ears with his hands.
Referee Amari Dorere went directly to the strike and resumed the game only after 35 minutes after the players were allowed to make a short warm up.
Marseille had to make things worse then with ten men with a red card (twice yellow) for Florian Tauvin and in the final phase failed to reverse the deficit.
Mario Balotelli, however, listened to his debut with a goal. The Italian striker, who came this week from OGC Nice, made 1-2 in the deep time of substitution as a substitute.
Pépé big man on Lille's side
Nicholas Pepe was the big man on Lille's side. The striker of Cote d'Ivoire is responsible for 0-1 (penalty) and 0-2.
Marseille is in a disappointing season. Team coach Rudi Garcia is only seventh in League 1 after 21 matches, not less than 22 behind the inconspicuous frontman Paris Saint-Germain.
Strautman is sure he is based in Marseilles. The current acquisition by AS Roma so far has played 21 official games and once was very accurate.
Lille is well ahead of expectations. Coach Kristoff Galtie's team is quite second and is therefore fully engaged in the fight for a place in the group stage of the Champions League.
