It's no secret that South Korean LG can do anything with displays, and now they've just taken out a canvas of two new models in the "UltraGear Nano IPS" class: 38GL950G and 27GL850 with a screen size of 37.5 and 27 inches respectively.
Let's just start with the actual sausage aerosol, i. curved 38GL950G. This is the so-called ultra-wide screen with a 21: 9 width / height ratio. Yes, there are even wider formats, but certainly 21: 9 for many people – especially when the resolution is 3840 x 1600 pixels.
The beauty of the new LG display is that even with this size and resolution, they have not saved so much. This gives you an IPS panel with a refresh rate of 144 Hz – which can be up to 175 Hz. At this frequency, LG also boasts a GTG (gray to gray) response time of one millisecond.
Otherwise, the screen should be able to output up to 450 bits, giving it a VESA DisplayHDR 400 certificate. On top of that, LG has also filled Nvidia's G-Sync technology on this screen.
It is also divided by 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space or "135%" of sRGB, connectivity through HDMI and DisplayPort, and mood feedback in the form of "Spherical Lights 2.0"
If you think it sounds expensive, you are right. We understand from LG that the leading price of the 38GL950G will be NOK 24,990.
"G-Sync Compatible" 27-inch
The new 27GL850 is not as fierce as the older brother, but it also has a much more affordable price. You have to spend 5,990 kroner for this model and you get 2560 x 1440 pixels from the same IPS panel.
Also, this screen must have a 1ms GTG response time and a 144Hz refresh rate. The HDR certificate has not received it, as the brightness stops at 350 knots, but at least it has to deal with HDR10 content.
The screen does not really have G-Sync but must be "G-Sync compatible", which means that Nvidia drivers automatically include a "variable refresh rate" when the screen is connected to a GeForce GTX 10, 16 Series or Series RTX 20.
This will help get rid of abominations such as fragmentation and destruction during the game.
Both 27GL850 and 38GL950G will be available in stores from July.
