CSO: last year the share of RES in energy consumption declined – netTG.pl – Economy

In Poland, energy from RES reaches almost 70 percent. from burning solid biofuels, and wind farms (pictured in Stramnica near Kołobrzeg) only provide 14 percent. touted. "green" energy

In 2017, the share of energy from renewable sources in final gross energy consumption decreased 0.32 percentage points. up to 11 percent from 11.3 percent in the previous year – informed on Friday, November 16, at the Central Office's Central Statistics Office.

According to EU law, Poland must reach 15% in 2020. The energy portion of RES is gross final energy consumption. The CSO explained that the ratio of energy from RES to final gross energy consumption was calculated as a result of the value of final consumption from renewable sources and final energy consumption from all sources and given as a percentage.

RES ratio decreased in 2017 by 0.32 percent.
The office informed that this ratio decreased in 2017 by 0.32 percentage points. compared to 2016
It was explained that the main reason was an increase in final gross energy consumption (around 6.5%).
– Energy consumption from renewable energy sources also increases in the period reviewed, but not so dynamic (around 3.4%) – added.

The share of renewable energy in primary energy increased to 14.1 percent.
The CSO also said on Friday that the energy portion of RES in obtaining primary energy had increased in total from 2013-2017 from 11.9%. up to 14.1 percent

In Poland renewable energy is almost 70 percent. solid biofuel
In Poland, renewable energy is obtained mainly from solid biofuels (67.9 percent). Subsequent places include: wind energy (14%) and liquid biofuels (10%).
The total energy value of primary energy obtained from updated sources in Poland last year was 383 168 TJ. Energy consumption from renewable sources has increased slightly in recent years and increased from 360,000 TJ in 2013 to 374,000 TJ in 2017 – Office added.

RES is not popular in industrial installations
The Central Statistics Office explained that the energy consumption structure of RES was characterized by a relatively large share of end consumers (59 percent) and smaller use (41 percent) for energy transformation inputs; consumption of the energy sector itself can be ignored.

– The proportions above show that energy carriers from renewable sources in Poland are less frequently used by industrial (commercial) installations, where as a result of the transformation of energy derived energy carriers (especially electricity and heat) sent to the receiver – it is underlined.

Transportation, electricity and heating from RES
The office informed that in the case of electricity, the energy portion of RES in final gross energy consumption decreased by 0.27 percentage points. in relation to 2016 and the result of an increase in renewable energy consumption of around 0.4%. with a large increase in electricity consumption simultaneously (around 2.5%).

In the information, it was added that in the case of transportation, the share of energy from renewable energy in final consumption increased by 0.28 percentage points. compared to 2016. As explained, this is caused by an increase in the use of renewable energy (around 25 percent) with a smaller increase simultaneously in total energy consumption in transportation (around 17 percent).

As in the case of electricity, also in heating and cooling, the energy part of RES decreases. This time, with 0.13 pp. As explained by the Central Statistics Office (GUS), this is caused by an increase in renewable energy consumption of around 2%. with simultaneous increase in total energy consumption by around 3%.

NIK: The target of 15% is threatened with extinction from RES in gross energy consumption by 2020
In a report published on Thursday, the Supreme Audit Office informed that the target of 15% share of renewable energy in energy consumption by 2020 might be at risk. According to the DPR, if we do not increase the portion of renewable energy, we must buy it overseas.
– This transfer fee can reach up to PLN 8 billion – assessed.

ME: no threat, accelerated RES development
Meanwhile, the energy ministry in response to the report stated that thanks to government actions, delays in the renewable energy sector were able to catch up and accelerate its development. The Ministry ensures that the RES target for 2020 will be implemented.
