Consortium Toto Costruzioni, who was the developer of the investment, announced last Friday that the contract was terminated. Despite the call, the company did not return to the construction site.
A spokesman for GDDKiA Jan Krinitsky said contractors were charged with contractual sanctions totaling over PLN 87 million.
– This is the punishment for withdrawal from the contract due to the fault of the contractor and in connection with the claimant's claim for the direct payment of remuneration to subcontractors, suppliers and service providers – explained PAP Krichinski.
GDDKiA said it would secure the construction site and take over the maintenance of the temporary traffic organization.
– The planned release date for the latest S5 fragments is the fourth quarter of 2019. So at the end of this year drivers will be able to use the entire S5 from Poznan to Wroclaw, the spokesman said.
