The head of the administration of Sarov, Nizhny Novgorod district, Alexey Golubev, ordered mourning throughout the city due to the death of five employees of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center – the All-Russian Research Institute for Experimental Physics.
According to RIA Novosti, citing Sarov Golubev, a representative of the administration, has signed a corresponding decree.
"In connection with the deaths of five employees of the RFNC-VNIIEF Federal State Unitary Enterprise during the execution of a task of national importance … announce mourning throughout the city from 13:00 to 11 August," the document said.
In connection with the mourning in the city, it is recommended that the flags be removed, television programs and events be canceled.
At the same time, the administration did not provide details of the deaths of employees, recommending that Rosatom state corporation seek comment.
Rosatom earlier announced the deaths of five employees as a result of a military school emergency in the Arkhangelsk region.
