Naville Distribution cuts jobs in Geneva

The German group 7Days, the current owner of Naville Distribution, does not expect any further cuts in Switzerland beyond the 28 positions already crossed in Geneva, he told AWP on Wednesday. , The Tribune de Genève reported on this restructuring on Tuesday.

Naville Distribution deals with wholesale of press products as well as related logistics. Previously, the SME was owned by the Basel retailer group, Valora, who split up in 2016.

Nadya Sennetzer, head of the development department in 7 days, explains that the restructuring of the site in Geneva can not be avoided. The issue is the deterioration of the print media market in the French-speaking Switzerland.

The Naville Service, which is responsible for Naville Distribution SA's activities with wholesalers, is not affected, she says.

From February 1 to 7 days, Switzerland employs about 530 people, including 120 in Naville Distribution.

This is not the first cut of the company, which had more than 300 employees before its acquisition by Valora, La Tribune de Genève said.
