In more than 400 pharmacies throughout Serbia, starting today until November 17, as part of marking World Diabetes Day, residents will be able to check whether they have an increased risk of developing diabetes.
Those who have faced this disease will be able to obtain useful information about therapy and reduce the risk of damage. In the Serbian Pharmacy Chamber, which initiated this action, they stated that the consequences of the explosive increase in the number of sick people were a great burden both for individuals and for the entire health system of each state. According to data from the Institute of Public Health "Dr. Milan Jovanovic Batut", about 12% of the adult population has diabetes in Serbia, about eight percent are treated, while four percent of patients do not have a diagnosis, and therefore there is no medical assistance.
