Monaco must remain positive despite the current struggles – Thierry Henry – Football

Thierry Henry's miserable attitude to management showed no signs of abating but he urged his injured team at Monaco to remain positive despite being beaten by Paris St Germain.

Monaco gave up their second 4-0 defeat at the Stade Louis II in six days – following from the Champions League they were curled up by Club Brugge on Tuesday.

Edinson Cavani scored a searcher's hat-trick, while Neymar's penalty completed a defeat to put PSG 13 points at the top of Ligue 1, with Monaco guarded from the foot of the standings on goal difference.

Henry, who lost four times and drew two of his first six matches in charge of Monaco, said in a quote on the club's website: "There is a difference in quality.

"At the start of the match they were not calm but in the end it was a very easy victory for PSG.

"There was a reaction, no player lost focus. Even with all our injuries, we have created opportunities against PSG. We must remain positive. "

Monaco's night was exacerbated by injury to Nacer Chadli midway through the first half and Belgian substitute Jordi Mboula shortly after the break.

They appear to be joining the long list of injuries to Monaco and former France striker and Arsenal Henry admitted his disappointment over the increasing number of casualties.

"We lost two more players," Henry said. "It's starting to do a lot of things. Always the same scenario in our match. We lost our game and players. "

While Monaco could only see with jealous eyes, PSG recorded their 13th win of 13 in the French top flight.

On the night when the linesman came under scrutiny, Cavani scored twice in 12 minutes – with both reverse goals on the assistant referee's video system which was initially marked for offside.

Cavani used his predecessor's instincts to complete his treble in the 53rd minute while Neymar scored from the penalty spot right after an hour, following Djibril Sidibe's careless violation of former Monaco star Kylian Mbappe.

PSG coach Thomas Tuchel said in a quote on his team's website: "It's amazing to get 13 wins in 13 matches. That is an extraordinary appearance.

"We know that Monaco is in a complicated situation, with several players injured.

"We scored twice quickly, but the first period was more balanced.

"We conceded several opportunities to our opponents. We are more serious in the second half, more structured, and we deserve this victory. "
