PC Revue | HONOR introduced the first Smart TV with the HarmonyOS operating system

HONOR, the smartphone brand, officially unveiled the HONOR Vision series at the Huawei Developers Conference (HDC) on Saturday. The device presents them as the first HONOR product in this category. HONOR Vision is equipped with three smart chipsets developed by Huawei – the Honghu 818 smart chipset, the AI Camera NPU chipset and the Wi-fi chipset used by the company in its flagship products.

HONOR Vision is also the first intelligent TV in the world to have its own Huawei operating system, HarmonyOS. HarmonyOS will be optimized and gradually adopted into the brand portfolio, including smartwatches, screens, in-car systems and speakers. HarmonyOS will be released as an open source platform.

Honghu 818 chipset It includes 7 advanced imaging technologies. The Honghu 818 chipset enhances and optimizes image resolution and color contrast with several algorithms. An eight-core processor can handle more complex images on large screens while performing other tasks. HONOR Vision delivers high picture quality, excellent sound quality and remote voice interaction.

Another innovation is Sharp Tech, a smart AI popup camera equipped with HiSilicon Hi3516DV300 NPU chipset capable of recognizing faces or detecting positions. The popup camera gives the user the ability to tilt 10 degrees down and automatically hide behind the screen when not in use.

HONOR Vision is equipped with Wi-Fi flagship HiSilicon Hi1103. As the world's first 160 MHz bandwidth chipset with download speeds of up to 1.7 GB / s, it is 1.7 times faster than usual, allowing for smoother and more stable video playback, especially for 4K HD video.

It also supports dual frequency 2.4 G / 5 GHz optimization. While 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi provides stronger Wi-Fi signal and wider bandwidth, 5 GHz Wi-Fi allows faster internet connection and less network delays and offers optimized connectivity in different environments. The HONOR Vision Smart Display features a Family Note that allows users to transfer 600M images between their smartphone and display via Huawei Share in just 20 seconds – 100 times faster than Bluetooth.

The HONOR Vision smart display uses the HONOR Magic-link feature, which allows users to use their smartphones or tablets to find programs, adjust settings, and more. HONOR Vision also has a feature that allows users to link and design files without downloading application apps to their smartphone or smart screen, and can easily activate NFC and enjoy HDR 1080p viewing. With ultra low latency of 100ms, users can connect the device to HONOR Vision in 2 seconds.

Users can also seamlessly switch between Miracast and DLNA while watching videos, watching photos or playing games. Both versions of HONOR Vision have a 55-inch 4K HDR display. Users can enjoy up to 94% screen-to-body ratio thanks to the three-sided Fullel View bezel-less design. The smart screen has a general frame of 6.9 mm diameter.
