For the first five months of 2019, more than 1.8 million tourists and over 4.6 million overnight stays have been registered in Slovenia. This is 4.1% more arrivals and 2.3% more nights than in the same period of the previous year.

In May, only 499,942 tourist arrivals and more than 1.1 million tourist nights are included in tourist sites. Revenues were roughly the same as in May last year, while accommodation was 4.4% less.

Domestic tourists have increased this number of arrivals (by about 11%) and overnight stays (by 4%). Less foreign tourists (3%), who also spent less time in Slovenia (7%).

The main objective of the current strategy of Slovenian tourism is to increase the flow of travel exports from 3.7 to 4 billion euros. It is assumed that this will be achieved with between 5 and 5.5 million tourists, from 16 to 18 million overnight stays and an average stay of between 3.1 and 3.4 days.
