Ice Lake's new mobile processors are here @ Slo-Tech

khm … so aren't these just stupid processors? 🙂
Personally, I miss the procedure for ordinary home sockets that would consume 25W without having to underestimate it.
The four cores are full of caps, so I can run two virtual machines or do the usual PC work.

When it stops, when it stops, RESET returns you to a rhythm.

18 percent more powerful, measured in clock cycle instructions, but with a slightly slower clock. Below the line, they are more economical, which is crucial for portable devices.

Matthew, in a slower move you should add 20% less than before.

It would be time for mobile processors to be made available to the masses and platform makers to pay for them. This applies to both camps.
These processors are already powerful enough for many user tasks, just for daily use, and I'll bet I'll hear about honey.

Such prices would not be exactly honey. For the cheapest 2c / 4t (U) variant, you would want to have around $ 280 if you order 1000 units. The price is probably not tax, so the end buyer can pay more like the i7 9700.

The problem with these modern Intel mobile phones is that they have such a low base clock (and a very high Turbo), so performance is very dependent on the manufacturer to determine how cool and how TDP is set up. That is, the same processor can run virtually 2x-3x faster depending on the laptop model.

Quack!

compare desktop and mobile. on mobile no processor was 5ghz, not supported at all.
on the other hand, it will now be a little easier for the mobile processor to slow down, say 3.8ghz (due to the production process) and have approx. 18% higher CPU performance than previous generation.

there are fewer advantages to the desktop, yes.

"protection against vulnerabilities of Meltdown and Specter, etc."
Bravo finally !! But it took a long time to get there. And it will probably take you a long time to stop selling other processors with these two vulnerabilities.

I do not compare Mobile Vs. desktop.

But 8th generation and 10th generation mobile in frequency.

What does "the new Ice Lake mobile processors are here for" really mean?

I know that the writer of the article has no bad intentions here, as well as foreign articles.

Where is this "here"? Can we buy laptops with Ice Lake processors? No, they come for Christmas once.

And what does this launch mean? Start sending processors to partners? You might think so, but Intel released it in May:

Intel's 10-minute Ice Lake chips are shipping now, and PCs will be released later in 2019.

And in "massive volumes".

So what is this "launch" now? Quite an advertisement because it's just crushing news sites?

If offered massively, prices will certainly be more normal, otherwise higher than desktop options.

It would be interesting to see the whole list.
Very commendable that they are going (at last) in this direction.

Just looking at the pricing of 8th gen mobile devices. and again it is a high price.

It is quite possible that 35W (25W with TDP down) versions of ten lower-cost 10-generation desktop processors and candy can be offered as better igpu and avx 512.
However, if this is too much for everyone, consider celeron @ 10W.

That they reach the shelves at the end of the year. The way processors ship OEMs to partners doesn't have to hang on the big bell.

When you have an example you have nothing to write about, such news is also good :))

By the way: the Ryzen 3000 series had no place in the news on this portal (we can buy them from July 7).

Bwaze6 ::

Well, basically Intel had the news – it released information about upcoming processors. Previously, we had no details about the models and frequencies.

At the same time, it also allowed partial performance, though it is a little misleading to compare the upcoming processor (thermally unlimited) (with a 3733 frame that no one would fit into a laptop) with the previous generation processors in real laptops with limited cooling.

And it's not just Intel's fault, I've noticed a lot of news that doesn't quite differentiate between presentation, announcement and product availability …

scipascapa ::

again the marks are such that they make only a mess.

What do you have to write then? That they are in stores and have a dozen foreign reviews? We wrote about exactly what they are.

I also find it odd that there was no news about the new AM 2 Zen 2. I'm a little lucky that the ST is not what it used to be.

Don't listen to me !!!!!!

There were rumors before.
What should you write? Short summary (models, frequencies, performance tips), as always.

Now I went to watch:

Did you specifically describe their performance, although there were no reliable tests, did you?

You also have this in the news you linked.

I have already started waiting for this Ice Lake in 2016. Then in May this year, I learned that it would only be mobile and I would have to wait for Comet Lake-C. I also learned that it would be 14 nm, which I didn't like. Then, on July 7, AMD released the Zen 2 and virtually switched camps overnight. I last visited AMD in 2006.

Instead of pulling amd fans along with the nonsense, it would have looked a little better, they were already written about it in May on ST.

Because most of the world is AMD oriented and they don't want to upset people in ST? Classic fanboy, projected on everyone else, not shit, fine.
