Zurich's main station is a new vending machine. Ikea offers everyday items for sale. After a week the blue box goes on a tour through Switzerland.
If you need an Ikea bulb or picture frame, you do not have to drive to the Swedish furniture store on the outskirts of the city, but instead you can stock directly from Zurich's main train station yesterday. Ikea created a machine in the middle of the historic station.
"The whole thing is a trick in the context of a campaign," a LOOK spokesman said. They wanted to get closer to the people, as they did two years ago with the pop-up shop of the noble Bahnhofsstrasse. The machine is a pilot. "If our experiment is well received by customers, we will consider creating more automatic machines," he continues.
Automatic continues Tour de Suisse
For a week the machine is in Zurich. Then the only piece will be in Basel, Bern, Lucerne, Geneva, Nevsatel and Bellinzona. The range consists of small home furnishings, gifts and functional items such as batteries and light bulbs.
The blue box works like the good old Selecta machine. Enter the numeric combination of the desired item, paid – and it is already in the output tray.
But beware: The Ikea machine only accepts cards – no money.
Package with cottaler, several bulbs or kitchen utensils. What do you want in the new Ikea machine? Tell us in a comment!
