The seminar was attended by Dr. Maha Bahyt, Director of the Intellectual Property and Competitiveness Division of the League of Arab States, Dr Mohammad Rashad, President of the Union of Arab Publishers, Dr. Hosam Lofi, Professor and President of the Arab Union of Publishers . Dr. Maha Bahyt said that the publishing industry is one of the oldest and most important cultural industries and faces many challenges that affect its value as an economic activity and noted that the Arab League has made many efforts to protect the intellectual property rights and the rights of authors and publishers.

Bahith stressed that all Arab countries believe in the importance of the intellectual property protection system as a driver of the economy and development, so the Arab League cooperates with everyone to develop a joint Arab work in the field of intellectual property, which is clear from partnership with several regional associations such as Arabic Publishers Associations, International Federation of Publishers Trends and organizations interested in literary and cultural activities.

Dr. Rashad pointed out that intellectual property is all that a person possesses of intangible things such as inventions, thinking, writing, publishing and patenting, pointing out that one of the reasons for the deterioration of the publishing industry in the Arab world is the violation of intellectual property publishers and authors. To deal with the application of intellectual property laws to "hackers".
