The Sidra Medical Center has announced the launch of new services in pediatric neurology specialties and has introduced the latest technology in this field with work on conducting a clinical study to understand and develop care and treatment of children with epilepsy.
The Department of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Sidra Medical College has set up a neurological diagnosis laboratory to provide electrocardiogram services to ambulatory and home services for the measurement of brain activity and assessment of children suspected of having epilepsy or confirmed.
An epilepsy monitoring unit has been set up to provide 24-hour, 24-hour, 24-hour, 24-hour, synchronized ECG monitoring to help diagnose many children.
The Department of Neurosurgery has also opened new clinics in sub-specialties, including the clinic of sclerosis, the headache clinic, the complex epilepsy clinic, the clinic for ketone diet and the spastic hyperthyroid clinic.
Dr. Khalid Zamil, head of neurosurgery at Sidra Medical, said the center has a world-class neurological staff with state-of-the-art technology that allows patients to take care in a more integrated way, such as the mobile electrocardiography service (EEG) , which has allowed many home patients to be monitored while providing the same level of treatment and care without having to be in a hospital.
In addition to the clinical services currently provided, the neurosurgery department is conducting research that will deepen the understanding of the child epilepsy environment in Qatar and provide a special approach to the treatment of chronic diseases.
