Sleep apnea is an indicator of risk for various diseases

Two American studies with 10-year intervals revealed that sleep apnea increased by around 10 percent in obese people.

Sleep apnea may be the beginning of diseases such as myocardial infarction, stroke, and arteriosclerosis.

The increase in patients with sleep disorders is a strong indicator of the number of obese people, said Mikhail Polyuktov, head of the sleep medicine department at Sikhinov Moscow Medical University.

Cardiologist and sleeper Alexander Kalinkin notes that apnea interferes with the production of many hormones, especially growth hormones, which are conducive to supporting obesity, adding that it is difficult for sufferers of sleep apnea to lose weight, respiratory problems.
