Hamdan bin Rashid
Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Finance Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Pension and Social Insurance Authority, chaired the board meeting Thursday morning at the headquarters of the Supreme Ruler in Dubai.
At the beginning of his meeting, His Majesty welcomed the members of the Council and wished them success in their work. He then continued to discuss the agenda and approved the minutes of his previous meeting.

It also approved and adopted the resolutions and recommendations adopted by its committees, namely the Executive Committee, the Audit and Risk Committee and the Supreme Human Resources and Remuneration Commission.
The Governing Council approved a draft Commission Annual Budget for 2019 for submission to the Council of Ministers for approval and approving the appointment of the actuary to assess the financial position of the Authority as of December 31, 2018, after which it discussed and took appropriate decisions on other points daily order.
It is worth noting that the statistics of the Authority for October this year show that the number of covered by insurance increased by 5.41% compared to the same period last year, with the number of covered 92 thousand and 861 compared to 87 thousand and 835 for the same period of 2017.
The number of registered employers has increased from 5376 to 6032 and the number of pensioners was 15,828 compared to 15,302 for the same period last year.
The number of eligible beneficiaries has increased to 6988 compared to 6761. The Authority also manages 1725 pensioners, 4,553 civil servants, 5917 retired and 4,441 eligible servicemen who receive their pensions from the Ministry of Finance.
The Board of Directors of the Pension Authority approves the Commission's projected budget for 2019.
