Amazon today will name two cities in America intending to deploy its new headquarters.
This was reported by sources in The Wall Street Journal newspaper.
According to sources, the choice of Amazon falls in the New York region in Long Island City and the Crystal City area in Arlington (Virginia), both located near the center of major cities – New York and Washington (DC).
Long Island City is the largest district in New York now, where since 2006 more than 16 thousand new residential buildings have been built.
And in Crystal City, the office area and housing development of the 60s, located in the home of the second head of the Amazon, Jeff Bezos.
Amazon began searching for new headquarters in September 2017. Initially, 238 cities were considered. In January this year, the company announced a list of 20 cities that reached the final.
A week ago, Amazon announced that it would divide the new headquarters, and that it would be located in two cities, because it would be easier to recruit qualified personnel. Thus, 25 thousand people will work at each new headquarters.
