The world's premiere Hyundai subcompact SUV is held in Brazil. Most likely, the cross will not be sent to the series, but the family design of "state employees" will be updated based on the reason, Chronika.info reports with reference to infocar.ua.
At the motorbike event in Sao Paulo, which opened its doors the day before for media representatives, the Hyundai brand showed the concept of electrocross Saga EV. The prototype was developed at the California design center of the company with the participation of Brazilian units. On the concept of "basket" in Hyundai silent. Local media believe that the HB20 hatchback budget, which in turn, is based on the old Solaris platform, is becoming a "donor" for SUVs.
This concept accepts LED optics and 19-inch wheels, the camera is installed instead of the exterior mirror. There is a rubber lining on the roof, and an elastic belt stretches between rails – this "kit" must make the load secure more reliably.
The Hyundai EV Saga is 4028 mm long, which is 108 mm longer than the standard Hyundai HB20 hatch. The crossover wheelbase is 2560 mm (+60 mm compared to the hatchback), the ground clearance is 302 mm versus 165 mm for HB20. By the way, according to the latest indicators, Saga EV surpasses not only ordinary hatches, but also cross-version HB20X (205 mm), and even larger SUVs Hyundai Creta (Brazilian version is 4270 mm, wheelbase is 2590 mm, ground clearance is 190 mm).
The manufacturer did not reveal the interior of the electrocross, most likely, a non-propelled model was brought to Sao Paulo. In this case, Hyundai said that if Saga EV goes on sale, it will be offered with a 204 hp electric motor. and lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 64 kWh – the same "kit" found in the top-end version of the "green" SUV series Kona Electric Electric. The power backup from Kona with a single charge with this battery is around 470 km in the WLTP cycle.
However, Hyundai will not place EV Saga on conveyors. But the designers did not work in vain: it was hoped that, based on the concept, they would fulfill the appearance of the improved HB20 model.
Remember, in addition to the "pyatidverki" standard already mentioned and the cross version, this family also includes a sedan and a hatchback "challenged". Cars produced at the Brazilian Hyundai factory. From the EV Saga, the G20 will most likely get a radiator grille and rear lights, the headlights will also be made in a prototype style. The premiere of the updated HB20 family is scheduled for next year.
