Super Mario Maker 2 will include an entirely new mode and cooperative mode that will allow two players to build together levels.
Revealed in 15-minute Nintendo Direct, Super Mario Maker 2 will also feature online multiplayer with up to 4 players like Mario, Luigi, Frog and Toadette.
Players will be able to play with their friends in multiplayer cooperative mode, where everyone will work together and once a player reaches the finish line, everyone will finish and defeat the level.
However, Multiplayer Versus mode will also be available and will eat four players against each other at randomly selected courses and will encourage players to improve as Versus rating will track your winnings and losses.
Nearby Play will allow up to four players who own Nintendo Switch and Super Mario Maker 2 to play local co-operation. One warning is that the player who creates the room will need an internet connection.
In one player Story Mode will task Mario with the restoration of Princess Peach Castle, completing jobs, and mastering over 100 courses to earn coins to help in the recovery mission.
Level planners will have a lot more tools including slopes, Angry Sun, Snake Block, ON / OFF Switch, the ability to set the water level and / or lava on stage and much more.
For players who want to add some scrolling to their levels, Custom Scroll will allow creators to decide when and where to start scrolling, adjust their speed and trajectory, and even create vertical scrolling sections.
There will also be more themed themes, featuring desert, snow, forest and sky for creators, and new music by legendary composer Super Mario Kodi Kondo.
The moon will also be added to the creation tools and will hit all enemies on the screen and in some topics will add some surprises such as flying Goombas and Rotten Mushrooms.
The Super Mario World 3D style will also be available for the first time and will include some things that are not available in other styles such as Clear Pipes, Warp Boxes, Crates, Koopa Troopa Cars, Track Blocks, Piranha Creepers and the ability to become Cat Mario and Climb along courses.
The course world is where players will be able to share their creations and where everyone can search through tags and filters to find specific levels and types of levels, and players will be able to download courses to play offline.
When players like your courses, you will earn points for creating and fulfill different goals, you can customize the appearance of your avatar.
Endless Challenge will make players complete with as many Super Mario Maker 2 courses as they can before playing. Of course, there will be a board to show the world how great the player is.
